Transforming wastewater emissions into renewable energy

Sometimes innovation begins by looking at everyday operations in a new way.

At our rendering facility in Dublin, Georgia, we have partnered with Mobius Renewables to capture methane from wastewater treatment and convert it into renewable natural gas (RNG), turning a pollutant into new sources of clean energy and revenue.

 

What was once part of the treatment process is now part of a larger energy solution. The RNG is delivered into the Municipal Gas Authority of Georgia network through the City of Dublin natural gas system, where it becomes part of the existing energy grid and generates thermal energy credits along the way.

At our rendering facility in Dublin, Georgia, we are capturing methane from wastewater treatment and selling it back to the local Municipal Gas Authority as renewable natural gas. 

The result is a system that does more than manage wastewater, it puts it to work. It reduces on-site emissions, supports growing demand for lower-carbon energy and makes better use of resources already moving through the operation. 

 

This partnership with Mobius Renewables is an exciting expansion of our robust global portfolio of renewable natural gas and electricity. Looking ahead, we recently launched similar operations in Jackson, Mississippi, and we are planning additional sites for 2026, scaling a successful idea into a broader source of sustainability and value.
