Health and safety
We protect and nurture the safety, health and well-being of our team members, customers, business partners and the communities in which we operate. We believe safety succeeds through integrity and a foundation of values that drive a culture of excellence. Across our operations, we ensure all employees are well acquainted with our safety standards and practices and empowered to actively contribute to creating a safe and healthy workplace environment. Contractors are required to meet or exceed our standards, while maintaining their own rigorous safety protocols.
Inclusion
Fostering an inclusive work environment is critical to our success. We recognize that advancing inclusion not only enriches our talent pool but also fuels innovation across our operations. We are dedicated to ensuring that hiring, development and promotion decisions are merit-based to create a work environment free from discrimination and harassment. These commitments are outlined in our Code of Conduct and reinforced through onboarding, regular training sessions and ongoing communication channels.
Employee engagement
Our talented and highly committed employees are the reason we continue to successfully create new value-added products from materials that would otherwise be wasted. It is our goal to support their growth and wellbeing, both professionally and personally. Through equitable and competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits and a growing number of learning and development opportunities, we empower our employees to reach their full potential and care for themselves and their families.
Community
Supporting communities where we live and work is central to our culture. Every Darling Ingredients location is empowered to address local needs and provide support through contributions, sponsorships and volunteer efforts to strengthen community resilience.

Our Commitment to Safety
Darling Ingredients is committed to protecting and nurturing the safety, health and wellbeing of our team members, customers, business partners and the communities in which we operate. We believe safety succeeds through integrity and a foundation of values that drive a culture of excellence. We live this vision by integrating safety into strategic planning and daily operations.
We believe in and embrace the following statements:
- Managers are safety leaders. Safety starts at the top with our Board of Directors and senior leadership, and is embedded throughout our organization. Every team member is responsible for health and safety, both individually and collectively, as one team.
- Workplace safety is a requirement. It is not acceptable to choose to place anyone or our company at risk.
- When we perceive harm to others or question our personal safety, we pause work and review.
- Incident prevention and safety improvement is a continuously evolving process, and we strive to better our performance each day.
- Quality employee training and education is needed to develop, maintain and improve our safety knowledge and culture.
- Data-driven safety targets help achieve the company’s strategic business goals.
- Our safety management process provides a framework that matches or exceeds all globally recognized and regional safety standards
Community engagement
In 2024, we contributed more than $314,000 to national, state and local FFA programs and were recognized as a Top Alumni and Supporters Chapter of the Year Award semi-finalist. We also celebrated 25 years of FFA sponsorship — a testament to our enduring commitment to agricultural education and youth development.

U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Reporting
As a global organization, we employ a diverse range of employees. In the U.S., we submit data to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, which is mandated by federal statue and regulations, and requires employment data to be categorized by race/ethnicity, gender and job category. Due to varying data collection and privacy restrictions in other countries, our reporting on racial and ethnic diversity metrics is limited to our U.S. workforce, offering only a partial view of the true diversity of our employee demographics. The EEO-1 survey may categorize data differently than our sustainability report.
