Nick Kemphaus

Nick Kemphaus directs Darling Ingredients’ global legal strategy, overseeing corporate governance, compliance, regulatory matters and the full range of legal operations that support the company’s worldwide growth. He works closely with the board of directors and senior leadership to ensure strong governance practices, transparent reporting and effective legal risk management across all business segments.

 

Since joining the company in 2012, Nick has taken on progressively broader responsibilities within the legal department, directing the company’s approach to securities and governance, mergers and acquisitions, and other core commercial, transactional and regulatory matters.

 

He was appointed Executive Vice President – General Counsel and Secretary in 2026 and leads the legal teams responsible for North American operations.

 

Earlier in his career, Nick practiced law in the private sector, where he focused on complex litigation and intellectual property matters, building a foundation that now informs his strategic counsel at Darling Ingredients. Nick received his bachelor’s degree from Thomas More College and his Juris Doctor from the Salmon P. Chase College of Law.
