From farm to future: How we support FFA’s mission to lead and inspire
September 16, 2025
Executive Vice President of U.S. Rendering Operations
At Darling Ingredients, we believe the future of agriculture is rooted in the passion and potential of young leaders. That’s why we’re proud to partner with the National FFA Organization — a collaboration that reflects our organization’s shared commitment to sustainability, agricultural education and community development.
Through our FFA Blue Jacket Program, more than 65 Darling Ingredients’ facility teams connect with local FFA chapters across the country. The Blue Jacket initiative provides participating students with their first official FFA jacket — a symbol of leadership, responsibility and pride in agricultural heritage. For many, it’s a transformative moment that marks the beginning of a lifelong journey in agriculture.
A commitment to the next generation of agricultural leaders is why our partnership with FFA matters so deeply. Mary Schrieber, National FFA Central Region Vice President, captured it perfectly when she said, “Whether it’s scholarships, chapter grants or a purposeful presence at state conventions, Darling Ingredients’ support truly makes a difference for FFA members across the country.”
Darling Ingredients understands access to resources can be a barrier for some students. That’s why our Blue Jacket Program is designed to be inclusive and impactful — removing financial obstacles and ensuring students who want to participate in FFA can do so.
In 2025, we plan to provide more than 400 jackets, helping students across the U.S. feel seen, supported and empowered. We expect to contribute more than $300,000 to FFA this year, reinforcing our deep commitment to agricultural education and youth development.
One of the most rewarding aspects of this partnership is the connections our local teams make with students in their communities. Our employees are actively involved in mentoring, volunteering and supporting local and state FFA events. These connections strengthen relationships, build trust and encourage students to pursue their goals with confidence.
As we look ahead to the 98th National FFA Convention & Expo in October, we’re reminded of the incredible vision and enthusiasm that FFA members bring to the agricultural community. Their ideas are shaping the future of our industry in real time. Our team will be there, and we invite everyone attending to stop by, meet our team and learn how we’re championing emerging talent in the agriculture community.
We don’t just see FFA members as students — we see them as future colleagues, collaborators and changemakers. Together with the students, we’re building a more sustainable and innovative agricultural industry.
